Former defender Gilly Flaherty joins WSL Hall of Fame

Decorated defender Gilly Flaherty is among the four latest stars inducted into the Women's Super League (WSL) Hall of Fame.
Flaherty joins Alex Scott, Steph Houghton and Rebecca Welch as the fourth inductee into this year's Hall of Fame. The former defender made waves in the WSL during her 14-year tenure, before entering punditry after hanging up her boots two years ago.
The defender started her career with Millwall Lionesses, before signing with Arsenal in 2009. Flaherty spent a decade with the Gunners, winning 17 trophies - including five Women's FA Cups and two league titles.
The winning didn't stop there for Flaherty, as she made the move to London rivals Chelsea in 2014. It was there that Flaherty helped the Blues win three league titles and two Women's FA Cups.
The decorated centre-back continued her WSL endevours in East London, playing for West Ham United between 2018 and 2022 before making the move to Liverpool for the 2022/23 campaign.
Flaherty said goodbye to her on-pitch duties in January 2023, hanging up the boots on an impressive WSL career. The former defender is now a regular pundit on the global stage across all levels of the women's game.
All four of this year's WSL Hall of Fame inductees will be formally honoured at an induction ceremony in January 2025.
