Harry Maguire has admitted the England squad believe the time is right for them to win a trophy as they head to Germany for Euro 2024 this summer.
The Three Lions have come close in recent years - the 2018 World Cup brought a trip to the semi-final and England reached the final of Euro 2020 - but they head to Germany as one of the pre-tournament favourites to go all the way.
Key to England's success has been the influence of manager Gareth Southgate, who Maguire credits for creating the kind of environment which helps bring out the best of players.
"He did a lot of little things, he knew how important it was to bring the group together, make everyone enjoy the camps, make everyone want to play for their country - and of course that's the way it should be," Maguire told Sky Sports News.
"It's a good time to be an England player, we feel we're in a good moment and it's a tournament I'm looking forward to - we're going there to win."
He added: "[Winning] would mean absolutely everything. We haven't lifted a trophy in a long, long time - but we've been close."
Maguire went on to explain the difference between playing in a tournament and a long-term league competition.
"Playing a tournament is totally different to playing league football - it's built on moments and you've got to make sure you're there within the game to let the moments take over," the Manchester United defender said.
"That's where your big players come to play and produce those magic moments.
"You just need to make sure you're there to make it and perform on the day to give yourself an opportunity to go and win."
