Ratu Elizabeth II Meninggal Dunia, Premier League Kemungkinan Dapat Ditunda
Berita mengejutkan datang dari Inggris. Kerajaan Inggris mengumumkan bahwa Ratu Elizabeth II meninggal dunia di usia 96 tahun di Istana Balmoral, Skotlandia.
"Ratu Elizabeth II meninggal dengan tenang di Balmoral sore ini. Raja dan Ratu akan tetap di Balmoral malam ini dan akan kembali ke London besok," tulis pernyataan dari akun resmi Kerajaan Inggris, @RoyalFamily.

Sky Sports sempat melaporkan bahwa ada kemungkinan semua event olahraga di Inggris dan Persemakmuran, termasuk Premier League, harus ditunda mulai besok untuk memasuki masa 10 hari berkabung.
Namun belum ada pengumuman dari Pemerintah Inggris terkait penundaan pertandingan di Premier League dan juga di First Division. Dilansir Daily Star, Pihak Premier League akan berbicara dengan pihak Department Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), terkait masalah ini.
Sementara itu pihak DCMS menegaskan bahwa tidak ada kewajiban untuk menunda semua event olahraga termasuk Premier League. Meski demikian, DCMS mengingatkan bahwa semua event olahraga harus ditunda apabila dilangsungkan pada hari pemakaman Ratu Elizabeth II.
Klub-klub Premier League juga sudah mengucapkan belasungkawa. Tidak hanya itu, mereka juga mengganti foto profil di akun Twitter menjadi hitam putih.
