Liverpool defender Joe Gomez believes Manchester United players will be under pressure to act as the protagonists in Sunday's meeting at Old Trafford.
The Reds make the short journey over from Merseyside this weekend looking to maintain their pace in the Premier League title race.
Erik ten Hag's men head into this encounter off the back of a hugely disappointing 4-3 defeat at Chelsea in which they had led 3-2 heading into stoppage time.
Speaking to Liverpool's official website, Gomez insisted the onus will be on United to come out and attack their visitors.
"I mean, they're at home. I don't think the atmosphere [and fans] would appreciate them playing a low block and sitting off so I'm sure they will be up for it and will come out at us, and it's up to us to deal with that atmosphere and go for them," Gomez said.
Liverpool return to Old Trafford looking to avenge their dramatic 4-3 defeat to United in the sixth round of the FA Cup last month.
"Obviously the way it ended last time round in the FA Cup was pretty disappointing for us," Gomez added. "We obviously had good phases in the game and we couldn't see it out but, onto the next. It's a different competition, we know we'll have to bring momentum there, it's a tough place to go and they are still a top team so we have to be at it and ready."
When asked if what was most annoying part of that loss was Liverpool's inability to take control of the tie, Gomez replied: "Yeah, I think that’s the most frustrating aspect of it but it's a reminder that we have to be ruthless and take our chances to see out games, and things can swing so quickly. So, hopefully we have control again and we can get in that position to punish this time."
