Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman has decided to leave the club before the summer transfer deadline, reports in France and Germany have revealed.

Coman has dealt with persistent muscle injuries for much of his career and last season was limited to only 17 Bundesliga appearances as a result. He has a contract with Bayern until 2027 but is now believed to be willing to move on after nine years in Munich.

L'Equipe writes that Coman is among the high earners that Bayern have "invited" to leave the club this summer, seemingly in an effort to lower the wage bill and rejuvenate the squad after losing their long-term stranglehold on domestic German football in recent times.

Coman is said to have accepted that, with interest from unnamed Premier League clubs.

Speculation throughout this summer has linked both Arsenal and Liverpool with the France international, who played just a handful of minutes at Euro 2024, while there has also been apparent interest from Barcelona – the Catalans and Liverpool are equally linked with Federico Chiesa.

The Saudi Pro League has been touted as another destination and Sky Sport Germany now reports that Bayern have reached a transfer agreement with reigning Saudi champions Al Hilal.

The enquiries in the 28-year-old from Barcelona and Liverpool, as well as other clubs across Europe and in England, are described as "loose" at best. Saudi Arabia isn't the "ideal solution" for Coman, but he is described as "open" to it if no better proposals come from within Europe.

Transfer windows in England, France and Spain are due to close on 30 August, with Italy to follow a day later. But the window for Saudi Pro League clubs is still open until 6 October, meaning Coman would still be able to join Al Hilal even after European options are off the table.

Al Hilal won the Saudi Pro League by an astonishing 14 points last season, dropping only six points across their 34 games. That was in spite of marquee signing Neymar making only five appearances before rupturing an anterior cruciate ligament. Instead, it was Malcom, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and domestic legend Salem Al Dawsari who carried the success.
