Kylian Mbappe reacts to 'magical' Real Madrid debut

Kylian Mbappe enjoyed a successful Real Madrid debut on Wednesday evening, scoring his first goal and lifting his first trophy for the club.

The Frenchman's move from Paris-Saint Germain to the Spanish capital had been the talk of the summer transfer window. So when Mbappe was announced in Madrid's starting lineup to face Atalanta on Wednesday, alongside Vinicius Junior and Rodygo, all eyes were fixed upon the forward.

And, as expected, Mbappe's debut was nothing short of immense. The forward scored his first Madrid goal, latching onto a clever pass from Jude Bellingham to fire into the top corner of the net, to makle it 2-0 on the night and seal the UEFA Super Cup for his new club.

"It's a magical night," he told CBS Sports after his triumph in Warsaw. "Always dreaming about this time of night, and now it is a reality. To play for this club, the best club in the world, is something crazy.

"I'm really happy to make my debut today. Of course we won a trophy. It's really important to win a trophy, because everyone has won here. It's a big pleasure for me, also to score a goal. As a striker, to be there and score for my team is always a pleasure and I hope to stay like this in the season to help the team more.

"It is easy to play with [the team] because they are great players, and all of the players in the team are great. This is Real Madrid and that's why this is the best club in the world, because we have the best players here. It is a pleasure to play with Rodrygo, with Vinicius, also with Bellingham and with all the guys."

Mbappe will be hoping he can help Madrid in their quest to retain the La Liga title this season. Los Blancos kick off their defence this weekend when they face off against Mallorca at the Estadi Mallorca San Moix.
