Kylian Mbappe in €80m standoff ahead of Real Madrid move - report

Kylian Mbappe is still owed €80m by Paris Saint-Germain ahead of his free transfer to Real Madrid, according to a report.
The forward confirmed earlier this month that he will leave PSG when his contract expires at the end of June, and though he is widely expected to join Madrid, he did not specify his next move.
90min first reported back in January that Mbappe had agreed to waive around €200m in various bonuses and add-ons in his PSG deal as part of a complex legal arrangement. However, it appears there are further complications as part of this agreement.
L'Equipe claim that PSG surprisingly decided to pay Mbappe an €80m bonus in February, but had hoped that his next club, Madrid, would foot this bill, despite being under no obligation to do so. PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi harbours a 'deep dislike' of Madrid counterpart Florentino Perez, who is determined to ensure that the French champions receive no fee at all for Mbappe.
Mbappe is yet to receive his final salary payments from PSG, which amount to €72m, as well as another €8m bonus owed, taking the bill to the same €80m figure the club paid to the player in February.
There is now an ongoing legal battle to determine these payments, with both PSG and Mbappe arguing that the other party has not kept to their word.
Mbappe is annoyed that he was not able to close his PSG chapter with their triumph in the Coupe de France and instead has to endure further wrangling with club management, while he felt he was dropped from the starting XI by head coach Luis Enrique for non-sporting reasons during the final part of the campaign. Nevertheless, he is now ultimately focused on winning Euro 2024 with France.
