Liverpool's interest in signing Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez has allegedly been confirmed to a Hungarian sporting director by current midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai.

The Reds have switched between Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas this season but concerns over the long-term fitness of both players - as well as dwindling form from the former - have seen the Premier League leaders linked with a number of potential replacements, including 21-year-old Kerkez.

Alongside Liverpool, the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid have all been named as possible suitors for Kerkez by various outlets.

According to Istvan Salloi, sporting director of Hungarian side Zalaegerszegi, Liverpool are serious about signing Kerkez, with fellow countryman Szoboszlai said to have confirmed the Reds' interest to him directly.

"[Kerkez] is in very good shape," Salloi told Teljes Terjedelem (quotes via Liverpool Echo). "[His signing] is absolutely on the table at Liverpool, the sporting director [Richard Hughes] who took him to England is now at Liverpool.

"We also spoke with Dominik Szoboszlai about this, and he also knows that he is in the picture and that their interest [in Kerkez] is real."

Kerkez, who is under contract until 2028, joined Bournemouth for £15m in 2023 but is expected to command at least three times that fee if he leaves the club next summer. He was previously linked with a move to West Ham United prior to his arrival on the south coast, having made his name with Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar.
