Liverpool pre-season 2024/25: Fixtures and schedule

Liverpool are in the midst of their first pre-season without Jurgen Klopp for nine years as they prepare themselves for the 2024/25 campaign.

Arne Slot is the man tasked with replacing the legendary German at Anfield and is aiming for greater success in the Premier League than the Dutch coaches that have come before him. Ensuring he makes good use of the pre-season period is essential to the Reds making a fast start next term.

The 45-year-old is now in the middle of pre-season preparations with Liverpool, who have a number of friendlies lined up before the Premier League kicks off. The club's supporters will be keen to catch a glimpse of those matches this year more than most.

Where are Liverpool going for 2024/25 pre-season?

Liverpool will travel to the United States this summer under new management, returning to North America for the first time since 2019. The Reds will travel across the country and have three matches lined up against some familiar opponents.

Speaking about their US tour, the club's commercial director Ben Latty stated: "We are proud to announce our highly anticipated return to the USA providing a great environment for the squad to prepare for the season ahead.

"Pre-season tours always present exceptional opportunities for our supporters, the team and our official partners to engage in memorable experiences within a key focus market for the club."

Liverpool pre-season 2024/25 confirmed schedule

Liverpool were beaten 1-0 by Preston North End in a behind-closed-doors friendly on 19 July but followed that disappointment up with a positive performance in a 1-0 win over Real Betis in their first US outing. Dominik Szoboszlai scored the first goal of the Slot era in an encouraging victory.

There was an impressive second victory for Slot in Liverpool's recent clash with Premier League foes Arsenal. A 2-1 victory over the Gunners courtesy of goals from Mohamed Salah and Fabio Carvalho will lift spirits.

The Reds now face an American battle with rivals Manchester United on 4 August in the early hours of the morning. Slot will enjoy a reunion with compatriot and former Eredivisie competitor Erik ten Hag.

Liverpool have also announced Slot's first Anfield fixture, with the Reds taking on Sevilla on 11 August. This clash takes place just six days before their Premier League opener with newly-promoted Ipswich Town.

Liverpool's pre-season campaign is well underway but Slot hasn't had a chance to meet all the club's top players due to international commitments this summer.

With the Copa America and Euro 2024 taking place over the past six weeks, some of Liverpool's international stars will join up for pre-season at a later date.

However, the Reds do have a number of their experienced pros with them in the United States, with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Curtis Jones, Wataru Endo and Diogo Jota all reporting for pre-season duty across the pond.

Ryan Gravenberch and Ibrahima Konate, who spent the entirety of Euro 2024 on the bench with their countries, have also now joined up with the rest of the squad in the United States.
