Liverpool squad: Confirmed shirt numbers for 2024/25
- Liverpool under new management after Arne Slot replaced Jurgen Klopp
- Reds had a quiet summer regarding transfer business
- Liverpool's squad numbers for 2024/25 haven't seen much change
It was a summer of change for Liverpool following the departure of Jurgen Klopp and arrival of Arne Slot.
A new era beckons under the Dutch coach as he aims to build on the incredible foundations put in place by his predecessor. The good news for the former Feyenoord boss is that he still has the majority of Klopp's stars at his disposal at the beginning of his reign, even if one or two have made exits.
As a result, there hasn't been too many alterations when it comes to squad numbers for the new term, but let's take a closer look at who will be wearing what in 2024/25.
Liverpool squad numbers 2024/25
Liverpool's squad numbers have now been confirmed for the 2024/25 season after the summer window slammed shut on 30 August.
Summer recruit Giorgi Mamardashvili has returned to Valencia on loan for the current season and his number is yet to be revealed. However, Italian winger Federico Chiesa has been handed the number 14 shirt, which was most recently inhabited by Jordan Henderson.
Elsewhere, there have been no changes for players already at the club, with exciting academy graduates Jarell Quansah and Conor Bradley retaining numbers 78 and 84 respectively.

What numbers can Premier League players wear?
Technically, players can don any number between 1 and 99 in Premier League matches, although unlike in countries like Turkey and Italy, first-team players generally opt for the lowest number available that fits their position.
There are exceptions, of course. Trent Alexander-Arnold still boasts the number 66 jersey he wore when breaking into the Liverpool first team, while the last two incumbents of the number three shirt haven't been left backs, with Wataru Endo and Fabinho owning that number.
Can Premier League players change squad numbers?
Premier League players can change their squad numbers, but only at specific points in the year. Clubs must confirm their squad numbers at the beginning of the campaign - by 14 September this time around.
After that point, players can't change their numbers again until the end of the January transfer window, and they can only do so then if they're changing clubs or inheriting a shirt from someone who has left the club they already play at.
