Liverpool have unveiled their all-new home kit for the 2024/25 season, paying tribute to the iconic strip worn back in 1984.
1984 saw Liverpool lift the European Cup under the guidance of iconic boss Joe Fagan, who led the Reds to a famous treble wearing a kit which has since become a firm favourite of Liverpool fans across the globe.
That retro design has returned for Liverpool's 2024/25 kit, which features a unique collar featuring the traditional red and yellow detailing which pays tribute to the famous design from 1984.
Liverpool's home shirt features a yellow pattern across the red base, while there is also yellow and white side panelling on both the shirt and shorts.
The design also draws inspiration from Rome, the host city for 1984's European final, with plenty of Italian-inspired techniques used in the promotion of the new kit.
The font for the names and numbers on the back of the shirt takes inspiration from the city of Liverpool and their historic street signs.
"I'm a big fan of our new kit for next season and love the fact we're bringing the retro vibe back," said Virgil van Dijk. "We are a club built on history and the 1984 team was one of our most successful ever. I'm sure our fans will appreciate the nod to those club legends."
Liverpool Women vice-captain Taylor Hinds added: "It's such a different look for the new season, and we can't wait to wear it. The retro inspiration always makes you feel a part of the club's history is with you as you play."
Fans can pre-order the new Liverpool home shirt now ahead of its official release on 16 May.
