Manchester City are reported to be interested in offering Rodrygo a route away from Real Madrid if he grows unhappy with his role at the club.
Madrid are preparing to announce the arrival of Kylian Mbappe, who many believe will take Rodrygo's spot in Carlo Ancelotti's two-man attack alongside Vinicius Junior.
Rodrygo recently had fans concerned when he twice refused to rule out an exit from the club, although he later insisted his words had been taken out of context and pledged his love to Madrid.
According to MARCA, Rodrygo's situation has caught the eye of Premier League champions City, who are ready to offer the 23-year-old the chance to leave Madrid if he no longer feels like a valued member of the starting lineup.
City plan to monitor the situation and see whether Rodrygo finds himself out on the fringes of the Madrid setup, at which point they would be prepared to launch a bid.
Liverpool were recently touted as the primary suitors for his signature by reports in Spain, while a number of sides across Europe have been linked with Rodrygo in recent months.
It is stressed that Rodrygo remains happy with Madrid and is not looking to leave, although recent reports have acknowledged he would consider his options if he found himself struggling for game time.
Madrid do not want to lose Rodrygo and it was even reported recently they would be prepared to reshuffle their entire team just to make a space for the Brazilian.
Rodrygo still has four years left to run on his contract and so Madrid officials are not concerned about his future, safe in the knowledge that the 23-year-old is not actively looking to leave the club either.
