Man City pre-season 2024/25: Fixtures and schedule

There was no FA Cup to top off yet another successful season for Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola surely content with his side's efforts in 2023/24.

Guardiola's Cityzens rallied again to beat the best Arsenal team in 20 years to yet another Premier League title. City were invincible down the stretch, and they became the first team in history to win four-straight English league titles.

They're a half-decent side.

Just how long Guardiola will remain in Manchester is a question that's starting to rise in prominence, and, who knows, this may well be the last pre-season the Spaniard oversees with the Sky Blues.

Where did Man City go for 2024/25 pre-season?

Man City joined the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd by jetting off to the United States for the bulk of their pre-season. Their tour began with a clash against Celtic on 23 July and the Cityzens finished up against Chelsea on 3 August.

There were no friendlies at the Etihad or across Europe but City did feature in the Community Shield against local rivals Manchester United on Saturday 10 August at Wembley.

It was a belting start to City's tour, although Guardiola's side were on the wrong side of a seven-goal thriller with Celtic. City's young guns struggled defensively as Brendan Rodgers' Scots secured a 4-3 win in North Carolina.

There was yet more chaos in the Cityzens' second outing of the tour, and they were once again on the losing side as Milan beat Guardiola's side 3-2 at Yankee Stadium despite an excellent performance from 21-year-old winger Oscar Bobb.

Guardiola then enjoyed a reunion with former employers Barcelona, but Man City once again found themselves conceding far too many chances. The honours were even come the full-time whistle in a 2-2 draw, with Jack Grealish netting a second-half equaliser.

The Cityzens concluded their tour with an impressive 4-2 victory over Chelsea in Ohio as Erling Haaland netted a hat-trick and Bobb once again starred, also finding the back of the net.

Man City concluded their pre-season preparations by winning the Community Shield for the first time since 2019, beating Man Utd 7-6 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
