Manchester City will expect to take another important step towards retaining the Premier League title when they visit Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon.

The Cityzens showed why they are feared so much in title races by tearing Brighton apart 4-0, with Phil Foden once again in dazzling form. With next to no injury concerns, manager Pep Guardiola has plenty of options to consider before picking his starting XI for this weekend.

Here's the side he may opt for to keep Man City well set in the Premier League title race.

GK: Ederson - Avoided missing too many games after getting injured at Newcastle and pinged City into good positions with his distribution.

RB: Kyle Walker - Was captured giving a high-energy team talk to his teammates on Thursday night, one which clearly had the right effect. Might have had a chance to score himself with more measured touches but ended up with two assists.

CB: John Stones - City are very light on the injury front and it could be the ideal time to get more minutes into Stones' legs.

CB: Nathan Ake - Ake did start against Brighton and might feature again, with Ruben Dias on the bench once more.

LB: Josko Gvardiol - Has started catching the eye towards the end of the campaign with some old-fashioned defensive work and the odd strike at goal from long distance.

CM: Rodri - The Spaniard remains the central cog in making Man City tick and is unlikely to drop out of the side, with Matheus Nunes still not totally trusted by Guardiola.

CM: Mateo Kovacic - Croatia international Kovacic, however, has fit in pretty snuggly in his first campaign at the Etihad Stadium. Another start on Sunday would allow rests for other key players elsewhere.

RM: Bernardo Silva - The Portuguese maestro continues to be linked with a switch to Barcelona, but whether Man City will let him leave after another season where he has shown his incredible worth remains to be seen.

AM: Kevin De Bruyne - Showed off his lesser-spotted talent for heading footballs against Brighton and is so often City's talisman when they're chasing down title rivals at the end of campaigns.

LM: Jack Grealish - The England international has been outshone by Foden of late but should get a good chance to show off his own skills by replacing his compatriot on the left wing.

ST: Julian Alvarez - Erling Haaland's muscle injury is Guardiola's only fitness complaint. Thankfully for him, World Cup winner Alvarez fits in superbly in the starting XI and City should be no less threatening without their Norwegian behemoth.
