Man City squad: Confirmed shirt numbers for 2024/25
- Cityzens have won four straight Premier League titles
- Pep Guardiola retained key assets in the summer
- Ilkay Gundogana forced to wear new number after returning to club
They can't do it again, surely? Well, with Pep Guardiola at the helm, can anyone ever bet against Manchester City?
Off the back of a treble-winning 2022/23 season, the Cityzens rose again in 2023/24 to beat an excellent Arsenal side to the Premier League title - their fourth on the bounce.
This is a historic unit aiming to create more history in 2024/25 by securing a fifth championship in a row. There hasn't been a major squad overhaul, although Guardiola has got a couple of fresh faces to hone and develop.
Here are Man City's squad numbers for the 2024/25 campaign.

Summer arrival Savinho looks like an exciting addition, boasting an eerily similar profile to the man that once wore his number 26 shirt in Manchester, Riyad Mahrez.
Ilkay Gundogan also completed a stunning return to the club after just a year in Barcelona, but Mateo Kovacic is the current incumbent of the #8 shirt he once donned at the Etihad. Instead, the German midfielder will wear the number 19 shirt relinquished by Julian Alvarez over the summer.
James McAtee is bound to play a minor role for the Cityzens this season, but he'll be wearing the #87. There's been no shirt change for potential breakout star Oscar Bobb, who will wear #52 once he returns from his long-term injury.

What numbers can Premier League players wear?
There are two primary rules when it comes to Premier League squad numbers. Every number must be unique within the squad and players cannot wear zero. This is not the NFL.
Ederson, meanwhile, is one of several Premier League goalkeepers to buck the tradition of keepers wearing between number 1 and 13.
First teamers generally take shirt numbers between 1 and 30, although City have a couple of stars with distinctly high numbers. Phil Foden and Rico Lewis have worn 47 and 82 respectively since their breakthroughs into Guardiola's squad.
Can Premier League players change squad numbers?
Premier League players can change their squad number during pre-season or if one is sold or loaned to another club in the January transfer window.
Clubs must submit their confirmed squad list - including shirt numbers - by 14 September and numbers cannot be changed thereafter.
