Manchester City are looking to extend their undefeated UEFA Women's Champions League run against Hammarby on Tuesday.

The Cityzens have had a bright start to their European tour, defeating back-to-back Champions League holders Barcelona 2-0, before completing the comeback and scraping a 3-2 victory against St. Polten.

Tournament newcomers Hammarby commenced their 2024/25 campaign in victorious fashion, after a 2-0 victory against St. Polten helped to lift the Bajen spirits.

However, matchday two was quite the opposite, as Barcelona thrashed the Swedish side 9-0 at Estadi Johan Cruyff. The meeting at Joie Stadium will provide Gareth Taylor’s side the perfect opportunity to put themselves in prime position to clinch the top spot of their group, ahead of their second meeting with Barcelona in December.

Here's 90min's preview of Tuesday's clash.

Gareth Taylor made a lot of changes to his City side that faced Barcelona ahead of their clash with St. Polten. With Man City gearing up to face Women’s Super League opponents Chelsea just four days later, a similar amount of changes may be likely against Hammarby.

Vivianne Miedema will remain sidelined for the clash against the Swedish side, after undergoing surgery on a troublesome left knee injury at the end of October.

Martin Sjogren

Martin Sjogren made a slight formation alteration to face Barcelona, as the midfield group were burdened with the role of dropping back in attempts to nullify the threat of the Spanish giants.

The nature of play is set to be quite similar against Man City, with the Cityzens posing a real attacking threat to Hammarby.

Young star Ellen Wangerheim will likely carry the brunt of the attacking burden, whilst a large onus is sure to be placed on the Swedish defence.

Man City vs Hammarby score prediction

Undefeated across all competitions in the 2024/25 season so far, Man City are sure to be favourites heading into the clash at Joie Stadium. As City continue to fire across all fronts, Hammarby will need to be incredibly disciplined if they are to pose any threat.

Despite what Hammarby’s scoreline against Barcelona may suggest, the side are able to cause challenges for City if they show up at their very best. Sjogren will need to ensure that his team remains focussed and compact in order to scrape any result out of the fixture.

St Polten caused real issues for Man City, and Hammarby were able to completely control the Austrian side in their 2-0 win. However, the same Barcelona who thrashed the Swedish side were also nullified by the Cityzens, meaning all signs point toward a delicious fixture in Manchester.

City are likely to be the victors, with goalscorers in all positions making it incredibly hard for any opposition to stop them.

Prediction: Man City 4-1 Hammarby
