Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount have both returned to Manchester United training as the pair near the end of their injury struggles.

Hojlund picked up a hamstring injury in pre-season and has not been seen since, while a similar issue struck down Mount in the second game of the campaign against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Fortunately for United, the pair were photographed in training on Wednesday and the club later confirmed both Hojlund and Mount had taken part in the session with the rest of the group.

Manager Erik ten Hag will be reluctant to rush either player back to competitive action and, thankfully for the Red Devils, may not need to after two impressive performances in their last two outings.

United bounced back from defeat to Liverpool before the international break with an emphatic 3-0 win over Southampton, and followed that up with an emphatic 7-0 thumping of a Barnsley side who currently sit seventh in League One.

A trip to Crystal Palace is on the cards on Saturday and Ten Hag will likely reward those who impressed in midweek with another start.

In attack, Marcus Rashford has three goals in his last two games. He started up top against Barnsley but could return to the left wing, with summer signing Joshua Zirkzee an option at striker.

Mount impressed during pre-season and the early weeks of the current campaign but faces a battle to force his way back into the United side following the arrival of Manuel Ugarte, who also caught the eye against Barnsley.
