The agent of both Manuel Ugarte and Joao Felix continues to hold talks with both Manchester United and Chelsea as he seeks to broker two blockbuster transfers before the end of the summer window, a report has revealed.

Agent Jorge Mendes arrived in England last week to finalise Chelsea's deal to sign winger Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers but still has plenty of business to do for fellow clients Ugarte and Felix.

Fabrizio Romano notes that Mendes remains in England, with the futures of both Ugarte and Felix still far from being settled.

For Ugarte, the midfielder is wanted by United and a deal over personal terms has already been struck, but Paris Saint-Germain continue to hold out for a significant fee for the 23-year-old.

PSG are looking to recover the €60m (£51.2m) they invested in Ugarte just last summer, but United have not yet indicated a willingness to come anywhere close to that fee. A verbal offer of €35m (£29.9m) was immediately rejected earlier this summer.

Elsewhere, Mendes remains active in talks with Chelsea over Felix, who emerged as a shock target for the Blues earlier this week after their move for fellow Atletico Madrid forward Samu Omorodion collapsed.

Atletico need to sell a player before signing off on the move to land Conor Gallagher from Chelsea and had planned on that being Samu, but could now find a new home for Felix, who spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Stamford Bridge.

Reports have claimed Atletico are holding out for their own €60m fee to part ways with Felix but, like United, Chelsea are reluctant to go so high. Their deal for Samu, which is highly unlikely to be revived, was only worth €42m (£35.9m).

Mendes is working to help both United and Chelsea reach agreements over their targets, although there is still plenty of negotiating to be done and no guarantee that a deal will be reached for either Ugarte or Felix.
