Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim faces a major dilemma ahead of Sunday's trip to Tottenham Hotspur after losing three midfielders to injury in training.

Amorim admitted ahead of the game that he was dealing with a handful of fitness issues, but declined to reveal which players had picked up problems ahead of what seems set to be an enormous fixture against Spurs on Sunday.

The Athletic have now revealed that Amorim's issues revolve around his midfield, where Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer have all picked up injuries.

The extent of the issues suffered by Ugarte and Collyer is unknown, but Mainoo is expected to require several weeks on the sidelines. All three will likely miss the Tottenham game.

Mainoo and Ugarte have both been central to Amorim's tactical setup, so losing both will cause some significant problems for the under-fire head coach.

Bruno Fernandes could drop into a deeper role once again, but his partner could be either Casemiro or Christian Eriksen, neither of whom have enjoyed any significant minutes since Amorim's arrival at United.

19-year-old Jack Moorhouse was called up to senior training and is expected to travel with the squad on Sunday for what could be his first appearance in a first-team squad.
