Manchester United are aiming for a third successive Europa League victory on Thursday when they travel to Viktoria Plzen.

The Red Devils won their first European encounter under Ruben Amorim by beating Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt 3-2 at Old Trafford, but back-to-back Premier League defeats to Arsenal and Nottingham Forest have since soured the mood.

With five games played during the league phase, Man Utd find themselves 12th in the new-look 36-team Europa League standings. They are one of just seven unbeaten teams to date and are closing in on the top eight, which would secure automatic qualification for the last 16.

Here is how Amorim could line Man Utd up for an important trip to Czechia.

Bruno Fernandes

GK: Andre Onana - The Cameroonian had been in impressive form up until his absolute disaster-class against Forest. He looked like the inconsistent and unreliable Onana of last season during Saturday's defeat.

CB: Noussair Mazraoui - Mazraoui could well return to the starting lineup as part of the centre-back trio, a job he performed admirably during Amorim's first matches. Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt both struggled at the weekend against a combative Forest side.

CB: Harry Maguire - Similarly to Mazraoui, the England international may be drafted in to shore up the backline. Both him and the Moroccan were second-half substitutes against Forest following a dismal defensive display from their teammates.

CB: Lisandro Martinez - One of those who showcased his worst at the weekend was Martinez, whose lack of height proved costly in Forest's first and third goals. He will be among those praying for a clean sheet in Plzen.

RM: Amad Diallo - Amad has shown signs of life early in the Amorim era, securing another assist after a lung-busting drive into the Forest penalty area. The Ivorian has proved a handy attacking threat on the right flank.

CM: Manuel Ugarte - The Uruguayan was one of Man Utd's stronger performers on Saturday, although that was a very low bar. He's evidently one of Amorim's preferred central midfielders following a prosperous spell together at Sporting CP.

CM: Kobbie Mainoo - Injuries and suspension have limited Mainoo's involvement over the past two months but the youngster should now earn a run of starts. The midfielder has already established himself as an impressive candidate in the engine room.

LM: Diogo Dalot - Luke Shaw's injury is another setback for Amorim as he tries to discover his strongest lineup. Tyrell Malacia is being eased back into the equation after a long layoff, with Dalot perhaps starting again on Thursday.

RF: Bruno Fernandes - Fernandes appears to be finding his best form since Erik ten Hag's departure and he produced an excellent finish to reduce the deficit against Forest. The playmaker will prove key in breaking down Viktoria Plzen's five-man backline.

ST: Joshua Zirkzee - Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund have shared minutes since Amorim's arrival and both have been in encouraging goalscoring form. It may be the Dutchman's turn for a run out in the Europa League.

LF: Marcus Rashford - Rashford has been benched for the last two outings despite scoring three in his first two starts under Amorim. He should replace the misfiring Alejandro Garnacho for Man Utd's Czech adventure.
