Manchester United are prepared to demand upwards of €40m (£34.3m) to part ways with winger Jadon Sancho, according to a report.
Sancho joined Borussia Dortmund on loan in January after falling out with United boss Erik ten Hag, but the deal does not include the option for a permanent transfer and so the winger is currently expected back at Old Trafford this summer.
However, should Erik ten Hag remain in charge at United, Sancho is likely to look for a permanent exit and Sky in Germany state that he is keen to remain with Dortmund, who also want to strike a deal with United.
The main stumbling block for Dortmund is the cost of any deal. United paid £73m to sign Sancho from the German side in 2021, tying him down to a lucrative contract which is due to run until the summer of 2025, and they are looking for around half that figure to offload Sancho.
Spending that sort of money on one player will be incredibly difficult for Dortmund, who also cannot offer anywhere close to the same sort of wage Sancho takes home currently.
A permanent deal has not yet been ruled out but talks between Dortmund and United are still a long way away from a resolution.
Sancho has struck two goals and added two assists in his 11 appearances so far for Dortmund, where club officials have openly admitted they did not expect much from a player who was stuck on the sidelines for four months before joining.
A popular figure in the squad, Sancho's future could be tied to that of another Dortmund winger, Donyell Malen.
The 25-year-old Dutchman has been in excellent form and, with two years remaining on his contract, is believed to be keen to make the move to the Premier League. While Dortmund would like to keep him, they are expected to cash in while they still can and are demanding the same €40m it would take to land Sancho's signature.
