Manchester United have received a £20m bid from Fulham for Scott McTominay after rejecting an earlier offer from the west London side, according to reports.

McTominay has caught the attention of a number of European sides this summer, with Galatasaray and Fenerbahce keen on stealing the Scotland international's signature. His talent has also interested clubs closer to home as Fulham continue their pursuit of the midfielder.

According to The Telegraph, Fulham have submitted a £20m bid for McTominay, £5m more than the earlier offer they had rejected. However, United value him closer to £30m and therefore may be reluctant to part ways for any less.

McTominay, an academy graduate, represents pure profit for United if a sale is made. He does, however, have one year remaining on his current contract, with the option to extend for another 12 months.

He made 43 appearances for the Red Devils last season, registering ten goals and three assists across all competitions. He also impressed during United's recent pre-season friendly with La Liga side Real Betis, playing alongside Casemiro in midfield.

The Scot made his first outing of United's summer friendly schedule in the 2-1 defeat to Arsenal, coming on as a substitute for the second half.

If United were to allow him to leave, it could pave the way for Paris Saint-Germain ace Manuel Ugarte to arrive at Old Trafford. The French giants, who are also on the verge of signing Portuguese starlet Joao Neves, would be willing to sanction a loan deal for the Uruguay international, who they signed for £50.6m last summer.

Fulham, meanwhile, are set to sign Arsenal star Emile Smith Rowe for a club-record fee. Reports state an agreement of £27m has been reached, with a potential £7m in add-ons available. Even with the addition of Smith Rowe, the Cottagers are in the market for another midfielder following the departure of Joao Palhinha to Bayern Munich.
