Marcus Rashford took to social media to celebrate with his Manchester United teammates after their 2-1 victory over Manchester City on Sunday.
United were trailing until the final five minutes, when a Bruno Fernandes penalty and a scrappy strike from Amad Diallo handed the Red Devils a dramatic three points and dished out an eighth City defeat in 11 games across all competitions.
Rashford played no part in the game after being dropped from the squad alongside Alejandro Garnacho, with head coach Ruben Amorim quickly confirming there were no injury or disciplinary issues behind his decision.
However, he still managed to get involved in the celebrations, posting a photo of Amad's celebrations alongside the caption 'Yesssssssss! Love it lads' on social media.
After the final whistle, Amorim pointed to standards when asked about Rashford and Garnacho's omission from the game, insisting they must meet professional expectations at a time in which many United staff members have lost their jobs in a cost-cutting exercise.
Crucially, the head coach insisted he was not trying to send a statement or banish either player from the squad, stressing that anyone can earn a spot in the squad for the upcoming Carabao Cup clash with Tottenham Hotspur by working hard behind the scenes.
