Michael Olise's agent has been handed a six-month month ban by the FA due to a prohibited clause in a previous contract he signed, according to multiple reports.

Olise agreed to a contract with former side Reading in 2019 which recently came under investigation, though the player himself did no wrong and was not charged.

The Athletic were first to report that registered intermediary Glen Tweneboah, who still represents Olise, has been banned after breaching the FA's agent rules with this contract.

Olise's contract contained a clause which entitled Tweneboah to 10% of any transfer fee paid to Reading, which is banned by the FA - only players and clubs are allowed to financially benefit from these dealings.

Though Tweneboah ultimately did not receive any payment for brokering Olise's £8m move to Crystal Palace in 2021, he will begin serving a six-month suspension from 4 October, meaning he will be able to oversee a summer transfer if the player leaves Selhurst Park.

90min were first to reveal that Olise would be interested in a move to Manchester United this summer if they firm up their interest. Olise was a target for United even prior to their onboarding of INEOS, who have taken control of the club's footballing operations.

Chelsea, however, are not expected to renew their interest in Olise. Last year, the Blues thought they had triggered a complicated release clause in his Palace contract, but this was not the case, and after Palace threatened Chelsea with legal action, they backed away from a deal. Olise then signed a new contract featuring a similarly complex release clause, which was in-part negotiated by Tweneboah.

Arsenal have also been linked with a summer move for the 22-year-old.

Olise has battled various injuries this season but has shone as one of the Premier League's best young players when fit, registering ten goals and five assists in only 18 games.
