Mikel Arteta reveals if Arsenal will make another £100m signing

Mikel Arteta believes Arsenal are not planning on making another expensive signing this summer after breaking their transfer record to bring in Declan Rice last year.
The Gunners brought the former West Ham star to the Emirates Stadium in July 2023 in a deal worth £105m. That move looked relatively shrewd during the season though, as Rice went on to make 51 appearances and registered seven goals and ten assists, announcing himself as one of the Premier League's best players.
However, Arteta does not want to replicate this kind of lavish spending and said he is 'really happy' with the players he currently has at his disposal.
"We don't expect to do anything like it. That's the reality," he said while on pre-season tour in the United Stated. "We have to wait and see the movements in the market. We have already identified the things that we can improve.
"We had the meetings in February, March, April. So if we can, we will strengthen the team. So far I'm really happy with what we have."
Arsenal's first move of the window saw the club turn David Raya's loan from Brentford into a permanent transfer after a successful season at the Emirates. They made their first new signing on Monday after announcing the arrival of Italy star Riccardo Calafiori.
Calafiori's arrival means Arsenal have spent roughly £240m on 11 defenders since Arteta returned to the club in December 2019.
The Gunners are set to lose Hale End academy graduate Emile Smith Rowe in the coming days. The 24-year-old is in line to join Fulham after falling down the pecking order at Arsenal, bringing an end to his 14-year journey in north London.
