Neymar reacts as Estevao breaks his goal record in Brazil

Neymar has congratulated talented youngster Estevao after he broke his record for most goal contributions for an under-17 player in the Brazilian top flight.
Estevao broke the record in Palmeiras' thumping 5-3 win over Juventude at the weekend, bagging a goal and an assist to inspire his side to a win as they chase Botafogo at the top of the Serie A standings. Palmeiras sit just one point adrift of the first-placed club in the table after 30 games having accumulated 60 points.
That points tally has been racked largely thanks to the form of their star youngster Estevao, who grabbed himself 10 goals and eight assists thus far - the most by an under-17 player in the history of the Brazilian Serie A.
The record was previously held by Brazil's all-time top goalscorer Neymar Jr, who managed 16 goal involvements during the 2009 season.
In an Instagram post addressing the record he held for 15 years being broken, Neymar wrote: "Congratulations Estevao for the broken record. May you continue to shine and enchant everyone with your soccer. Fly."
The 17-year-old is set to take his talents to Chelsea in the Premier League in the summer of 2025. Estevao was linked with basically every top club in Europe during the 2024 summer transfer window, with the Blues winning the race for his signature - forking out a reported £51m for his services.
The youngster is widely regarded as one of the best young players in the world, and has consistently been compared to his idol Neymar since he broke into the Palmeiras first-team in 2023.
