Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in talks with a "major club" as he prepares to return to club management, reports have claimed.
Solskjaer has been without a club since his departure from United in November 2021, recently confirmed his interest in returning to work and even admitted he would jump at the chance to return to Old Trafford.
The former Red Devils striker has been linked with the Denmark national team job but Danish publication Tipsbladet state that he has rejected the chance to hold an interview for the position.
It is reported that Solskjaer's focus is on returning to club management and the report even adds that he is in negotiations with a major club.
No details are given about Solskjaer's proposed next move.
Several fans have called for Solskjaer to return to United, perhaps in an interim capacity, following an underwhelming start to the season under Erik ten Hag.
United officials recently held a six-hour meeting, during which Ten Hag's future was on the agenda, but it is believed they have opted to persist with the Dutchman and resist the chance to make a change during the international break.
Thomas Tuchel, out of work since leaving Bayern Munich in the summer, has been linked with the top job at United, but Gareth Southgate appears to be out of the running after confirming on Thursday that he intends to take a year out of football – the former England boss had been extensively linked because of his close relationship with the club's hierarchy.
