Paul Pogba has insisted that he is willing to 'reduce his salary' in order to play for Juventus after his return from doping ban.

The midfielder tested positive for heightened levels of testosterone in his system back in September 2023 and was suspended while the Tribunale Nazionale Antidoping investigated the incident. The tribunal confirmed in February 2024 that Pogba had received a four year suspension due to the failed doping test - a suspension that the player lodged an appeal against.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) recently upheld Pogba's appeal, reducing the ban to 18 months as a result, meaning he will be eligible to play football again in March 2025.

Pogba's impending return to football has led to many questions being asked regarding his future at Juventus - with whom he has another year-and-a-half left on his contract.

Speaking in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 2018 World Cup-winning midfielder has expressed his desire to play for Juve once again, claiming that he'd be willing to reduce his salary at the club to make that happen.

"I am willing to give up money just to play for Juve again. I want to come back. I don't see myself with another shirt. My focus now is to wear Juve's again," said Pogba.

The 31-year-old admitted, however, that he is yet to have a conversation with new Juventus manager Thiago Motta about his situation.

"I haven't had the opportunity to see him and talk to him, but this moment will come. I think I'll be ready to train and play with Juve. I am now a player at Juve. In my head there is only this today," he said.

"I don't have to speak, the field will speak and then Thiago Motta will judge with his eyes, based on what he will see. Talk is nice, but I want to play and for Juve and for France, I want to be the best."

Motta and sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli have completely revamped Juve's midfield since the last time Pogba featured in Turin. The club signed Khephren Thuram, Douglas Luiz and Teun Koopmeiners in the summer alone, revitalising what had been a struggling area of the pitch.
