The Gunners finished ahead of PSV Eindhoven, who will join them in the knockout stages, while French outfit Lens took third and the spot in the Europa League that comes with it.
Reigning Europa League holders Sevilla saw their journey come to an abrupt halt as they finished in fourth, meaning no continental silverware this season.

Who has reached the 2023/24 Champions League last 16 from Group B?
Arsenal - Group B winners
Arsenal will have been pleased with what the draw threw up for them ahead of their first involvement since 2016/17 and backed up that confidence by securing top spot with minimal fuss.
A run of three wins, two against Sevilla and one against Lens in the middle of the group stage meant there would be no embarrassing exit for Mikel Arteta's side.
Potential last 16 opponents
- Copenhagen (Group A)
- Napoli (Group C)
- Inter (Group D)
- Lazio (Group E)
- Paris Saint-Germain (Group F)
- RB Leipzig (Group G)
- Porto (Group H)
PSV - Group B runners-up
While Arsenal were the clear favourites to win this group, all three of PSV, Lens and Sevilla could have made a great case for joining the Gunners in the last 16.
Sevilla's European pedigree ended up counting for little which meant it was a straight fight between PSV and Lens. In the end, PSV's point against Arsenal on Matchday 6 proved crucial as they pipped Lens by one goal. They also held the head-to-head advantage over the French side.
Potential last 16 opponents
- Bayern Munich (Group A)
- Real Madrid (Group C)
- Real Sociedad (Group D)
- Atletico Madrid (Group E)
- Borussia Dortmund (Group F)
- Manchester City (Group G)
- Barcelona (Group H)
Lens - Europa League knockout round play-off
The fact Lens were even in the Champions League is a wonderful achievement in itself, and they came very close to making it out of the group.
They are a team that could cause some issues in the Europa League should they get through the knockout round play-off.
Sevilla - Out of Europe
You can almost hear the cheers of every Europa League fanbase. Sevilla are having a pretty torrid time of things domestically at the moment and even though that was also the case last season, they still inexplicably won the Europa League.
This time, they were no match for their opponents and amassed just two points. It might be for the best, as they are 16th in La Liga and need to get their act together. There's a very decent chance they won't be in European competition at all next season.
