2023/24 Champions League top scorers
- Goalscorers around Europe looking to emulate Erling Haaland's 12-goal campaign in 2023/24
- Star strikers Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane hoping to lead their sides to glory
- Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have previously finished the tournament as top scorers
The 2023/24 UEFA Champions League has already been one of the most exciting iterations of the competition in recent years, with plenty more to come in its final month.
Erling Haaland fired Manchester City to European glory last season but he was unable to do so again this term, with record champions Real Madrid dumping the English heavyweights out of the competition. As a result, there will be a new top scorer in the Champions League this year.
Harry Kane is still hoping to make his second appearance in a Champions League final, this time with Bayern Munich, while the goals of Kylian Mbappe have already proven crucial in Paris Saint-Germain's journey to the semi-final. But which one will finish the campaign with that golden boot?
Here are the standings for the top goalscorers in the 2023/24 Champions League.
2023/24 Champions League top scorers
10. Phil Foden (Manchester City)
Games: 8
Goals: 5
Assists: 3
Foden's dazzling individual displays carried over on to the European stage this season, even if his five goals in eight appearances were not enough to guide Man City to back-to-back crowns.
He ended the group stage with three goals and then struck in the last-16 win over Copenhagen, before a rocket of a strike in the 3-3 draw with Real Madrid.
9. Rasmus Hojlund (Manchester United)
Games: 6
Goals: 5
Assists: 0
He took a while to find his feet in the Premier League but Hojlund loved his short spell in Europe before Manchester United were unceremoniously dumped out the competition.
He bagged five times for the underperforming Red Devils, although he won't be playing Champions League football next season.
8. Alvaro Morata (Atletico Madrid)
Games: 10
Goals: 5
Assists: 0
Atletico Madrid had tough battles with the likes of Feyenoord, Lazio and Celtic in Group E, with Morata scoring five times to help the Spanish side
qualify with little fuss.
However, the strikes dried up in the knockout stages, with Atletico knocked out by Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals.
7. Julian Alvarez (Manchester City)
Games: 7
Goals: 5
Assists: 2
Alvarez popped up with the winner to steer City to a 3-2 victory over Leipzig and book their place as group winners.
The Argentine added a goal and an assist in the last 16 as City breezed past Copenhagen, but couldn't find the net against Real Madrid in the quarter-final.
6. Galeno (Porto)
Games: 7
Goals: 5
Assists: 4
Wenderson Galeno evidently doesn't like Shakhtar Donetsk all that much. All of his goal contributions in the group stage came during Porto's two games against the Ukrainians. Talk about a flat-track bully, eh?
His fine campaign continued in the knockout stage as he scored a wonderful late winner against Arsenal in the first leg of their round of 16 tie. Unfortunately for the Brazilian, penalty shootout heartbreak in the second leg would bring his European campaign to an end.
5. Rodrygo (Real Madrid)
Games: 11
Goals: 5
Assists: 2
Real Madrid have Rodrygo to thank for their continued success in Europe, with the underappreciated star a menace on the continent.
Playing in an unfamiliar role in attack, Rodrygo has popped up in the biggest moments to keep Madrid's European hopes alive, netting home and away against Man City in the last eight.
4. Erling Haaland (Manchester City)
Games: 9
Goals: 6
Assists: 1
Haaland didn't score in either of his first two Champions League games this season, but he was never going to stay quiet for long.
He netted twice in each game against Young Boys before striking in the triumph over Leipzig to climb up to five goals, but two infamously quiet performances in the quarter-final against Real Madrid saw his campaign come to an end.
3. Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid)
Games: 10
Goals: 6
Assists: 1
Five of Griezmann's six Champions League efforts came in the group stage, but he did also find the back of the net in a crucial victory over last season's finalists Inter in the last 16.
However, much like his teammate Morata, his campaign came to a close following defeat in Dortmund.
2. Harry Kane (Bayern Munich)
Games: 11
Goals: 8
Assists: 3
Kane's prolific career in Germany so far has extended to the Champions League, with the England skipper having popped up with some crucial goals en route to the final four.
The former Tottenham forward scored four times in the group stage and followed that up with a brace against Lazio in the last 16. Penalties against Arsenal and Real Madrid have kept Bayern Munich's European dream alive.
1. Kylian Mbappe (PSG)
Games: 10
Goals: 8
Assists: 0
Kylian Mbappe's farewell tour started with a goal in PSG's round of 16 first leg victory over Real Sociedad. The Frenchman scored three times during the group phase.
He haunted Sociedad once again in the knockout stages, netting once in the first leg and twice in the return fixture to steer PSG through to the quarter-final, where he put Barcelona to the sword.
