5 transfers to watch after Copa America 2024 concludes
- Copa America concludes this Sunday with Argentina vs Colombia in the final
- A pair of Ecuadorian defenders could move on from their respective Bundesliga clubs
- A prominent Manchester City forward could depart England for a change of scenery
Several players competing in Copa America 2024 could be on the move after the final whistle this weekend at MetLife Stadium.
Copa America seemingly came and went this summer, and it's just about time for transfers to really pick up with players returning to their clubs from the competition in the coming weeks. Some players may have increased their transfer value with super performances, while others didn't feature as much but are still on the market and looking for a move at the club level.
Here are five transfers to watch after Copa America 2024 is done and dusted.
1. Jhon Duran - Colombia
Colombia head coach Nestor Lorenzo has chosen to go with Jhon Cordoba up front thus far at Copa America with Duran seeing just 13 minutes of playing time at the tournament.
It's been kind of similar to Duran at the club level with Aston Villa. As Ollie Watkins has emerged as the team's top striker, Duran could look to find playing time elsewhere -- with West Ham reportedly eager to land the forward's signature.
2. Moise Bombito - Canada
After a few stellar performances at Copa America with Canada -- along with consistency with MLS side Colorado Rapids -- Moise Bombito looks like he could make the move to Europe this summer.
The 24-year-old center-back has reportedly been the subject of interest from Ligue 1 club Lyon, with the Rapids potentially looking to cash in on the defender if a suitable bid comes in.
3. Piero Hincapie - Ecuador
The versatile Piero Hincapie -- who can play as a left-back, left-wing back and a center-back -- is reportedly on Chelsea's radar for a summer transfer.
The Bayer Leverukusen defender was integral to the team's first-ever Bundesliga triumph and was also key to Ecuador's run to the quarter-finals at Copa America.
4. Willian Pacho - Ecuador
Staying with the theme of Ecuadorian defenders in the Bundesliga, Willian Pacho is another name that could seek a move after a solid season in Germany along with an excellent Copa America campaign.
Like Hincapie, Pacho also was vital to the Ecuador defense that could make a move to the Premier League with Arne Slot's Liverpool reportedly interested in the defender.
5. Julian Alvarez - Argentina
This might be the most unrealistic player to leave their current club on this list, but the likes of Atletico Madrid and PSG have been linked with a move for striker Julian Alvarez.
The former River Plate forward's stock has not dropped at Copa America, and he could push for a move to La Liga to the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium to play alongside national teammates Rodrigo De Paul, Nahuel Molina and Angel Correa. However, Alvarez is competing at the Olympics and a transfer is more likely to happen once that competition has concluded.
