Zlatan Ibrahimovic has confirmed that he will be retuning to Italy, but is reportedly stalling on an offer from Milan.

The 38-year-old recently decided to call time on his spell at LA Galaxy and is now searching for a new club. Following his announcement, there has been plenty of speculation regarding his next destination, with numerous club showing an interest.

One club that has been heavily linked is Milan, who have struggled in the early stages of the new season. Reports have indicated that the Italian giants are closing in on a deal to re-sign the striker on a free transfer, while more recently, it has been claimed that Ibrahimovic has actually agreed a deal to sign for I Rossoneri.

The Swede has now confirmed that he will be returning to Italy, but this was, of course, blended in with the typZlatan rhetoric.

"There are football players who play football and others who think about football. When one thinks he invents a new way of doing football, the others just follow. I love making a difference. I don't want to do well just one or two things, I want to do them all well," he told GQ Italia.

"I will go to a team that has to win again, renew its history and is looking for a challenge against everyone. This is the only way for me to find the necessary stimuli to surprise you again.

"As a footballer, it is not just a matter of choosing a team, there are other factors that must fit in. Even the interests of my family. See you soon in Italy.”

However, Sky Sports in Italy have now reported that Milan have made a concrete offer for the forward, but are still waiting to hear back from him. As a result, negotiations between the pair have slowed down. The report further states that Bologna are still keen on him and an approach has been made.

It appears as though Zlatan has confirmed he will be returning to Italy, but just as he likes, the footballing world must await his final decision.
