Wolves Tipped to Sell Adama Traore for Fee of £70m Amid Liverpool Interest

Sunderland legend Kevin Phillips has admitted that Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traoré has enjoyed a fantastic season, but that his side would likely sell up for £70m.

The Spaniard has enjoyed one his finest campaigns as Wolves have gone in search of a Champions League place.

Back in January, it was confirmed to 90min that Liverpool, Manchester City and Barcelona have all asked to be kept informed about Traoré's future, with Wolves insisting that they would not let the Spaniard leave for anything less than £70m.

That figure has since been reiterated by Football Insider, who also state that Jürgen Klopp has earmarked Traoré as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mané, but Phillips revealed he does not believe Traoré is worth that kind of money.

“There is still a lot to come from him,” he said. “He has developed brilliantly this year. His pace is an attribute nobody in world football has got – unbelievable.

“He can still frustrate you when he gets into that final third so is he worth £70m? I do not think so. Wolves may be doing that because they do not want to lose the player. If someone offered £70m I am pretty sure Wolves would take it.

“It would be disappointing if he leaves because it has been a remarkable turnaround this season. He has developed well under the manager and taken everything on board that he has been told to do. It would be a blow to lose him.”

Having struggled during his early days in England with Aston Villa and Middlesbrough, Traoré has added an end product under current boss Nuno Espírito Santo and sits on six goals and 10 assists in all competitions this season.

That kind of form has caught the eye of LiverpoolCity and Barcelona, all of whom have discussed the possibility of signing the 24-year-old at some point down the line.

It is possible that bids could arrive this summer, particularly if Liverpool do need to replace either Salah or Mané, but the sides have all asked to be kept informed of any other bids in the future, when they will decide whether or not to join the race for his signature.
