Alex Zendejas replaces Malik Tillman on the US men’s national team 23-player roster for the October friendlies after the PSV figure withdrew due to injury.
The American team will host Germany on October 14 in East Hartford, Connecticut before facing Ghana at GEODIS Park three days later.
US Soccer confirmed the midfielder suffered a knock in his goal-scoring performance against Sparta Rotterdam, coming off the field in the 72nd minute after finding the back of the net in the second half.
"We were alerted to Malik's injury with him having to withdraw," USMNT assistant coach B.J. Callaghan said.
"We're still in the beginning stages of us having discussions with the technical staff. All options are on the table in terms of replacing him. It's an unfortunate injury for Malik. We were looking forward to having him and we wish him a speedy recovery."
Zendejas now returns to the USMNT training camp roster following four appearances during the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup campaign. Overall, the Club America player has recorded one goal and one assist in seven caps for the senior team since committing to the United States over Mexico in March 2023.
