Amad Diallo has confessed he forgot he was already on a booking when he earned himself a second yellow card for his celebration after scoring the late winner in Sunday's FA Cup quarter-final.

Amad came off the bench in Manchester United's 4-3 win over Liverpool and went on to score the eventual winner in the 121st minute, with the winger whipping off his shirt in a frenzied celebration.

As the dust settled, however, fans realised Amad had actually been sent off for a second yellow card, and the 21-year-old has now admitted he completely forgot he had been booked five minutes before his winning goal.

"I forgot the first yellow," Amad confessed. "I'm very disappointed for that, a red card, but the most important thing for me is to win, and against a big team like Liverpool is a big, big moment for me.

"Everyone came to me and said congratulations. I want to thank everyone, the fans were superb all game.

"What a game. I think we deserved this win. We played very good, one of the best games of the season also."

When asked if the goal was the best he's ever scored, Amad added: "I think so. It's an important moment, so I think it's the best goal of my career. You need to believe every single moment. I'm happy to score."

Amad will now serve a one-match suspension but, fortunately for the young winger, bans picked up in the FA Cup are not exclusive to the competition.

Rather than miss the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City, against whom he scored in last season's Championship on loan with Sunderland, Amad will instead be banned for United's Premier League clash with Brentford on March 30.
