Amad Diallo has quashed speculation he could leave Manchester United on loan during the January transfer window.
The 21-year-old shone last season during a loan with Sunderland but saw his momentum halted by a nasty knee injury in pre-season which kept him out for close to five months, but Amad made his long-awaited return off the bench against Nottingham Forest in United's final game of 2023.
Now looking to find regular minutes again, Amad was recently tipped to return to the Championship on loan this month, but the Ivory Coast international was quick to shoot the story down.
"Stop lying mate!" Amad wrote on social media in response to the story.
United boss Erik ten Hag has already voiced his excitement towards working with Amad, who he backed to bring "key actions, final passes and goals" when eventually back to his best.
The Red Devils paid an initial £19m to sign Amad from Atalanta in January 2021, agreeing to a deal which could reach over £37m if all add-ons are triggered.
So far, Amad has managed ten appearances for United, but the winger looked set for a breakout year after shining on loan with Sunderland last season. Amad bagged 13 goals and three assists in 37 games and returned to United surrounded by real excitement.
Injury, however, brought an end to the optimism, but Amad returns to a United side crying out for a genuine attacking threat from the left wing.
Jadon Sancho is in talks over a spectacular return to Borussia Dortmund, while £82m-signing Antony has failed to score or assist a goal this season. The Brazilian's last goal involvement was a cut-back for Anthony Martial in a 2-0 win over Wolves back in May 2023.
