Antoine Griezmann potential shirt numbers at LAFC

Major League Soccer side LAFC are reportedly in talks to bring the iconic Antoine Greizmann to BMO Stadium, a move that would reunite the veteran forward with Hugo Lloris and Olivier Giroud.
The move would send shockwaves through MLS as one of the biggest clubs in the league would only get stronger as the end of the season nears. Whether LAFC actually complete the signing is one thing, but it seems as if it's going to happen at some point with his former France teammates Giroud and Lloris in the LAFC squad.
If Griezmann were to join the Black and Gold, he could prove to be a versatile option up front with the likes of Giroud, Denis Bouanga, Cristian Oliver and David Martinez as LAFC have high hopes for MLS Cup this season.
Antoine Griezmann shirt number history
As Griezmann has played in the final third throughout his career, he's donned shirt numbers that forwards typically wear. When Griezmann was just breaking through at La Liga side Real Sociedad, he first wore 27 during his first season with the first team back in 2009/10. Starting in the following 2010/11 campaign, Griezmann then began to wear 7 through the 2018/19 season before he departed Atletico Madrid for FC Barcelona for roughly $131m.
Griezmann then donned 17 at his first year in Barcelona before switching to his preferred 7 for the 2020/21 season and part of the 2021/2022 season. Upon his return to Atletico on loan for the 2021/2022 and 2022/23 seasons, Griezmann wore 8 at first due to Joao Felix wearing his preferred number. Griezmann then was given 7 once again at the start of the 2023/24 La Liga campaign after Felix changed to 21.
On the international stage, Griezmann first wore 17 and 11 before permanently switching to 7 in 2016.
LAFC available shirt numbers
Luckily for Griezmann, LAFC have plenty of iconic shirt numbers to choose from with 7 and 10 being the most likely. While Griezmann may want to switch things up and wear 10, LAFC could pump the brakes on that move as 10 was been worn exclusively by club legend Carlos Vela before his departure this past winter.
If Griezmann isn't interested in 7 or 10, 8 could be an option -- but he might not opt for the number as he only wore it for a brief period at Barcelona.
