Arsenal 0-2 Chelsea - Women's FA Cup: Player ratings as Reiten & Ji stunners send Blues to Wembley
Two excellent second-half goals helped holders Chelsea book their place in the Women's FA Cup final at the expense of Super League title rivals Arsenal on Sunday.
Nothing clicked for the Gunners during the game, with Vivianne Miedema and Stina Blackstenius both quiet, and efforts from distance from Guro Reiten and Ji So-yun ensured the visitors will walk out at Wembley next month.
Arsenal started on top, though clear-cut chances were few and far between early on. Blackstenius got to the byline but couldn't pick out Miedema for a tap in.
Miedema went closest inside 20 minutes, sending a shot from the edge of the box just over the crossbar.
In a tight fixture, Arsenal dominated Chelsea's midfielders. Their organisation and counter-pressing caused the Blues problems. inviting their defenders to go long before the Gunners regained possession.
Beth Mead had a golden opportunity to open the scoring at the start of the second half, bringing down Steph Catley's cross and spinning in on goal, but went for power over precision and dragged her shot wide.
That miss proved costly as Chelsea went up the other end and scored just moments later. Reiten was afforded space on the edge of the box and curled an effort away from Manuela Zinsberger and into the far corner for an excellent opener.
The visitors began to assert their authority on the game from that point, with Beth England bustling her way into the box before drawing a good save from Zinsberger at the near post.
Their control on the game was rewarded with a second, aided by some poor Arsenal defending. A long ball forward was not dealt with and it eventually fell to Ji So-yun, who showed neat footwork before clattering an effort off the bar and in.
Chelsea were deserved winners and will face Manchester City, who beat West Ham 4-1 on Saturday, in the final on 15 May.
Arsenal vs Chelsea player ratings
1. Arsenal (4-3-3)
GK: Manuela Zinsberger - 7/10 - Had a few shots and crosses to easily gather in the first half. Great save at then ear post to deny England. Arsenal's best player.
RB: Katie McCabe - 6/10 - Was some confusion over her starting position but eventually settled at right back.
CB: Leah Williamson - 6/10 - Should have done better in the build-up to Chelsea's second, failing to clear her lines.
CB: Lotte Wubben-Moy - 5/10 - Awful bit of decision making to attempt to dribble out from her box at 2-0 down, almost resulting in a third for Chelsea. Pretty erratic throughout.
LB: Steph Catley - 6/10 - Set up one good opportunity for Mead with a cross from the left.
CM: Lia Walti - 4/10 - Has been great recently but looked a little jaded here against an imposing Chelsea midfield.
CM: Vivianne Miedema - 6/10 - Sent Arsenal's first opening over the bar. Great challenge on Cuthbert stopped Chelsea from getting in on goal. Pushed forward towards the end but couldn't make an impact.
CM: Kim Little - 4/10 - Got dragged out of position before Reiten curled in. So press resistant usually but not at her bossing best.
RW: Beth Mead - 5/10 - High boot on Carter resulted in a yellow card. Produced an amazing turn in the box but dragged her shot wide.
ST: Stina Blackstenius - 5/10 - Great chance to find a cut-back at the byline but couldn't pick out Miedema.
LW: Caitlin Foord - 4/10 - Didn't catch the eye on a difficult day for her side.
SUB: Frida Maanum - 5/10
SUB: Nikita Parris - 5/10

2. Chelsea (3-5-2)
GK: Ann-Katrin Berger - 6/10 - Spilled one cross but generally not as busy as the Berger at the other end of the pitch.
CB: Jessica Carter - 7/10 - Made an important interception to deny Mead a chance. Very good one-on-one.
CB: Millie Bright - 8/10 - Dominant in the air at the back. Won an important header and then sent the long ball forward which led to Ji putting Chelsea 2-0 up.
CB: Aniek Nouwen - 7/10 - Got spun for a chance Mead had but generally got the better of Arsenal's attackers.
RWB: Niamh Charles - 7/10 - Had Chelsea's best opening of the first half but shot straight at Zinsberger. Good defending on the right, especially in the first half.
CM: Erin Cuthbert - 7/10 - Booked for a foul which halted an Arsenal counter. Very physical performance and an awesome knee-slide when celebrating one of Chelsea's strikes.
CM: Sophie Ingle - 6/10 - Brought a save from Zinsberger when she probably should have scored.
CM: Ji So-yun - 9/10 - Smooth and calm in possession. Great bit of footwork on the edge of the box before firing in Chelsea's second, settling the game.
LWB: Guro Reiten - 8/10 - Provided the first moment of cutting-edge quality to open the scoring with a pearler from the edge of the box.
ST: Beth England - 6/10 - Took a big whack to the face early on but was good to continue. Couple of opportunities to get on the scoresheet but couldn't find a way past Zinsberger.
ST: Sam Kerr - 7/10 - Her biggest opportunity of the first half saw the ball fall to her feet, but a poor first touch saw the opportunity escape her. Made her presence felt in the box before Ji's strike.
SUB: Pernille Harder - 5/10
