Arsenal, Chelsea & Tottenham scout Feyenoord's Santiago Gimenez in fiery Ajax clash
- Gimenez has enjoyed a sensational 2023, racking up 19 goals in 25 Eredivisie games
- Mexico international was on top form against Ajax before match was suspended for crown unrest
- Premier League giants have been impressed by the 22-year-old
Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez was the subject of scouting visits from Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur over the weekend for his side's heated clash with Ajax.
Gimenez, who has 19 goals in 25 Eredivisie games in 2023, was putting on a clinic during Sunday's game, scoring twice and adding an assist before crowd unrest from devastated Ajax supporters saw the game suspended around the hour mark.
Despite his limited time on the pitch, Gimenez continued to catch the eye. 90min understands that scouts from Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham used the opportunity to continue their scouting of the 22-year-old striker, and they will have undoubtedly been impressed with what they say.
90min reported of Tottenham's emerging interest in Gimenez back in May, while Chelsea have added the Mexico international to their list of potential January targets alongside Brentford's Ivan Toney.
While Gimenez's electric form has caught plenty of eyes in England - West Ham United tried to sign him during the summer as well - there is also plenty of interest in the striker from mainland Europe.
Indeed, representatives from Benfica, Borussia Dortmund, Inter, Juventus, Milan and Napoli are understood to have been in attendance, with Gimenez among the players under close observation.
Alongside Gimenez, scouts have been watching winger Calvin Stengs, right-back Lutsharel Geertruida and forward Igor Paixao, who scored the third goal for Arne Slot's side against Ajax which triggered the final acts of unrest.
There were also officials from Newcastle United in attendance to track the progress of loanee Yankuba Minteh.
Back in April, Slot urged Gimenez to reject the mounting interest in him in favour of continuing his development with Feyenoord. The striker inked a new contract in August to commit himself to the Rotterdam side until 2027.
