Arsenal have revealed which shirt number Jurrien Timber will wear following confirmation of his signing from Ajax.
The Netherlands international has joined the Gunners on a long-term contract and becomes their second incoming of the summer transfer window following Kai Havertz's switch from Chelsea. Declan Rice's £105m move is expected to be announced shortly.
Arsenal's statement announcing Timber's arrival also confirmed which number he would wear for the club, with the versatile defender taking the 12 shirt.
Timber has predominantly worn the number two shirt throughout his senior career, but this was recently filled by William Saliba, who coincidentally vacated 12 in the process. The Dutchman briefly wore 12 while playing for his country's Under-19 team.
He is expected to travel with his new Arsenal teammates to the United States this weekend for their pre-season tour. They will take on the MLS All-Stars before coming up against Manchester United and Barcelona.

Lauren was undoubtedly the most successful player to don the shirt in modern times, while Thierry Henry was the most high-profile star to take it on, wearing it during his loan spell back in north London midway through the 2011/12 season.
Polarising striker Olivier Giroud took on the number 12 for five-and-a-half years before moving across London to Chelsea.
