Arsenal were made to weather the Selhurst Park storm but eventually got over the line on Monday night with a 1-0 win against Crystal Palace.

Martin Odegaard's penalty gave the Gunners the lead before Takehiro Tomiyasu was dismissed for two yellow cards picked up in quick succession, leaving Mikel Arteta's side to hold firm at the back until the full-time whistle finally blew.

There are plenty of tests coming up for the north London giants in the coming weeks, including a London derby at the Emirates and a huge clash with Manchester United. Here's what's on the horizon after the win at Palace.

Arsenal vs Fulham - Premier League

Next up for Arteta and Arsenal is a home clash with Fulham, who looked a little clueless in their 3-0 defeat to Brentford having opened their campaign with victory over even more clueless Everton.

The corresponding fixture from last season was over by half-time as Gabriel Magalhaes, Gabriel Martinelli and Odegaard all netted in the opening period. Recent arrival Leandro Trossard supplied all three assists.

Arsenal vs Manchester United - Premier League

One of the biggest Premier League games every season, Arsenal host Manchester United in early September. The two sides clashed in pre-season in America as a feisty encounter was won by the Red Devils, both in normal time 2-0 and in a supplementary penalty shootout.

However, United have since started the new campaign in inauspicious fashion, looking particularly poor in the second half of their 2-0 defeat to Tottenham, and improvement will be needed from Erik ten Hag's squad to challenge the Gunners at the Emirates.

Everton vs Arsenal - Premier League

Sean Dyche hasn't enjoyed many of his afternoons as Everton manager since succeeding Frank Lampard but his debut victory over Arsenal at Goodison Park is probably the gravelly Englishman's best so far.

It was James Tarkowski who scored the only goal of the game that day, though Arsenal replied with a 4-0 home win a month later and they won't be expected to slip up again with so much more quality in their squad.

Arsenal are, of course, back in the Champions League. The group stage draw has not yet been conducted but the Gunners are guaranteed to be playing a game in Europe's elite club competition on the first matchday of the season on 19/20 September.

The north London club last played in the Champions League in 2016/17, when they topped a group involving Paris Saint-Germain, Ludogorets Razgrad and Basel. They were then eliminated from the tournament in the last 16 by Bayern Munich 10-2 on aggregate.

Arsenal vs Tottenham - Premier League

The first north London derby of the season immediately follows Arsenal's return to the Champions League.

Whereas the Gunners could face off against some of Europe's biggest clubs this season, Tottenham did not qualify for any continental football after finishing eighth and have lost serial NLD scorer Harry Kane to Bayern Munich this summer.

Arsenal won both games last season and will be favourites to be victorious again at the Emirates here, even with Spurs plotting a rebirth under new boss Ange Postecoglou.

Bournemouth vs Arsenal - Premier League

When Reiss Nelson banged in a 97th-minute winner against Bournemouth last year, it felt like the Premier League title race was turning in Arsenal's favour.

It didn't end up going their way, but that 3-2 win still showed just how much steel Arteta has injected into his Gunners outfit having gone 2-0 down within the hour, even conceding to Philip Billing inside the first minute.
