Arsenal learn extent of Gabriel Magalhaes injury on Brazil duty
- Gabriel made his debut in Saturday's 5-1 win over Bolivia
- Centre-back managed 85 minutes before picking up a knock
- Brazil face Peru on Wednesday

Gabriel Magalhaes was spotted in Brazil training on Sunday, easing fears that the Arsenal centre-back had picked up an injury during the 5-1 win over Bolivia earlier in the weekend.
In what was his international debut, Gabriel was given a start and managed 85 minutes before heading to the bench, where he was spotted with an ice pack on his thigh.
With Arsenal already without both Jurrien Timber and Thomas Partey due to injuries as well, losing Gabriel would leave Mikel Arteta incredibly light at the back as he prepares for meetings with Everton, PSV Eindhoven and arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Fortunately for Gunners fans, it appears as though Gabriel has made a quick recovery from his issue as he was spotted in full training on Sunday.
Globo Esporte add that the 25-year-old underwent scans after the Bolivia game but no injury was detected, and the centre-back is now expected to retain his starting spot when Brazil face Peru for their next 2026 qualifier in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

A near-permanent starter for Arsenal last season, Gabriel endured a slow start to the current campaign which saw him come off the bench late in the Gunners' first two Premier League games, before going unused in the third.
The lack of minutes sparked concerns over his future at the club and 90min understands Gabriel was approached over a possible transfer to the Saudi Pro League this summer, but he was not interested in such a move and Arsenal refused to entertain offers anyway.
He then started Arsenal's 3-1 victory over Manchester United and appears set to keep that role as the injury to Partey, who has begun the season as a right-back, means Ben White has shifted back out wide and left space for Gabriel alongside William Saliba.
Arteta's side sit fifth in the Premier League after their first four games but are preparing for a tough run of fixtures which includes a visit from reigning European champions Manchester City in early October.
