- Expectations have shifted with a Champions League campaign to navigate
- The numbers each player will wear which number in 2023/24
By Euan Burns
Arsenal have a serious job on their hands to challenge for the Premier League title again in the 2023/24 season.
The Gunners led eventual treble winners Manchester City for much of the campaign before being usurped and are now tasked with going again while making an impression on their return to the Champions League.
Failure in Europe would be disappointing given the ambitious and expensive summer Mikel Arteta's side enjoyed in the transfer market - Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber are the headline arrivals.
Arsenal are very organised with their squad numbers with almost every first team member accounted for on the club website.
Here are Arsenal's squad numbers for the 2023/24 campaign.

Players without a number: Nicolas Pepe
Arsenal squad numbers available to new signings
Following Kieran Tierney's loan move to La Liga side Real Sociedad, the number 3 is once again available for any January arrivals. After that, the next lowest digit on offer is 23.
Nicolas Pepe, who previously held 19, was the only squad member at the end of the English transfer window without an official number after Leandro Trossard snagged his digit midway through last season.
What numbers can Premier League players wear?
Despite the fact that outlandish numbers are seldom seen in the Premier League, with Rico Lewis' 82 at Manchester City being the highest ever, any number between 1 and 99 is allowed.
The main rule is that it must be unique within the team. Also following tradition, goalkeepers will generally occupy numbers one and 13. Zero is also not allowed.
Can Premier League players change squad numbers?
Premier League players are only allowed to change their squad number during pre-season or if one is sold or loaned to another club in the January transfer window.
Clubs must submit their confirmed squad list - including shirt numbers - by a specified deadline each year and numbers cannot be changed thereafter. In 2021 that deadline was 1 September.
