Bayern Munich look to continue their Champions League winning run as they face Atletico Madrid in the Spanish capital on Tuesday night.

The German champions have blown away every opponent they've faced so far this campaign and have already wrapped up qualification for the last 16. Atletico have stumbled their way through the group stage, picking up only one win so far.

Team News

Atletico's injury list makes for grim reading, with a number of key men on the sidelines.

Defenders Manu Sanchez and Sime Vrsaljko are both ruled out through injury, as well as striker Diego Costa. Summer signing Luis Suarez and Arsenal loanee Lucas Torreira have recently tested positive for COVID-19 and will be big misses for Diego Simeone's side, in what is such an important game.

The onus will be on Joao Felix and Angel Correa up front to provide the goals that help Atletico into the next round. Felix has shown promising form of late and looks well on his way to justifying his hefty price tag.

The injury situation looks a lot more promising for Bayern, who only have Joshua Kimmich and Alphonso Davies on the treatment table. Kimmich is out until the new year after undergoing surgery recently on the meniscus in his right knee, while Davies sustained ligament damage in his right ankle earlier in the season and is still not ready to play.

Niklas Sule and Corentin Tolisso both featured in the Bundesliga for Bayern recently as they return to match fitness. Javi Martinez could get a run out in a rotated side and Leroy Sane will be eager for a start in the Champions League.

Predicted Lineups

Atletico Madrid: Oblak; Trippier, Savic, Gimenez, Lodi; Llorente, Saul, Koke, Carrasco; Felix, Correa.

Bayern Munich: Neuer; Pavard, Sule, Alaba, Hernandez; Tolisso, Martinez; Gnabry, Muller, Sane; Lewandowski.

Recent Form

Atletico have hit the ground running this season in La Liga this season but have struggled to get going in the Champions League. Their opening game saw them thumped 4-0 by Tuesday's opponents before a 3-2 win over Red Bull Salzburg.

Successive draws with Lokomotiv Moscow followed, leaving them in second place in the group, though their position is precarious.

Bayern have been on fire for a while now and seem to blow away teams with ease - they have won all four of their Champions League games so far this season and currently sit top of the Bundesliga. They have lost only one in nine games so far this season and have recorded big margin wins over Schalke (8-0) and Frankfurt (5-0).

Prediction

Despite Bayern having secured qualification already, it's hard to argue against them winning on Tuesday. They seem to play well no matter who the opponent and Atletico's injury lists includes big names such as Diego Costa and Luis Suarez.

Their presence in the starting XI will no doubt be missed, and Bayern should have the edge.
