GK: Marc-Andre ter Stegen - Has conceded six goals to Athletic's Inaki Williams previously and the battle between them will be a key one here.

RB: Jules Kounde - Has hinted he isn't happy playing at right back but seems to be the best option right now.

CB: Eric Garcia - Hasn't improved enough to demand a regular starting place since his switch from Manchester City but will get an opportunity with Ronald Araujo suspended.

CB: Andreas Christensen - Has impressed in recent weeks and shook off a knock to play in the 1-0 win over Valencia.

LB: Alex Balde - Continues to get the nod at left back over Jordi Alba. The 19-year-old has four league assists this season.

CM: Gavi - Has had a few recent suspensions in La Liga and Europe to deal with but will return to midfield at San Mames.

CM: Sergio Busquets - Might turn like a truck these days but there's still magic in Busquets' pirouetting feet and is a firm Xavi favourite.

CM: Frenkie de Jong - Now running Barca's midfield with authority while continuing to deny interest in a move to Manchester United.

RW: Raphinha - Is close to a suspension for yellow card accumulation but was the all important figure against Valencia, netting the game's only goal in the 16th minute.

ST: Robert Lewandowski - Reports in Spain claim Poland international is ready to return from injury, having not played since the Almeria defeat.

LW: Ferran Torres - May drift out wide to accommodate Lewandowski's return, having played in a central role in recent weeks.
