Barcelona defender Inigo Martinez has been filmed in a heated exchange with a fan outside the club's training ground.

Martinez, who joined last summer on a free transfer from Athletic Club, is seen stopping his car to walk over and confront the young fan, whose actions before the video starts are unclear.

"It's the last time you call me stupid, the last," Martinez shouted. "The last time you insult me. And your friend the same. Have you heard or not? The last. And don’t be cocky."

The fan is then pushed away from Martinez, who retreats to his car while still shouting.

The incident quickly travelled on social media and teammate Pedri was even asked about Martinez's actions in the same interview in which he confessed one of his biggest career goals is to find out what he looks like bald.

"I understand Inigo," Pedri told The Residency. "In the end we all have better and worse days, and it's not nice to be insulted just for not taking a photo, a video, or stopping the car, which we often do.

"With respect, everything is easier."

Martinez was a long-term target for Barcelona before making the switch last summer and the veteran centre-back has made 19 appearances in all competitions, operating largely as cover for Xavi's preferred centre-back partnerships.

He recently played 90 minutes in a 1-0 win over Las Palmas, picking up his fifth yellow card of the season and a one-game suspension which will keep him out of the upcoming meeting with Cadiz.
