Barcelona to wear special shirt for October clash with Real Madrid

Barcelona are set to wear a special one-off shirt for the Clasico against Real Madrid at the Lluis Companys at the end of October as part of the sponsorship deal with Spotify.

Barca have been partnered with the global music streaming service since last year, which also included selling the naming rights to their iconic Camp Nou home – the stadium is currently undergoing redevelopment, forcing a temporary relocation this season.

With one already played during pre-season that was won by Barca in Texas, the first competitive Clasico of the campaign will take place in La Liga on the weekend of 28/29 October.

RAC1 has reported that Barca will mark it with a shirt that features the unmistakable logo of legendary British band The Rolling Stones intended to promote their new album, which is their first new music in 18 years. The much talked about album is to be released the week before the game.

It will still be the 2023/24 home shirt, but with the usual Spotify logo replaced.

This is not the first time that Barca have worn such kits during the Spotify partnership. Two previous iterations, both of which were for Clasicos against Madrid last season, have seen the owl logo of rapper Drake and branding for Catalan singer Rosalia's MOTOMAMI album feature.

Barcelona against Real Madrid is arguably the single biggest club match in world football and therefore considered an incredible marketing opportunity for sponsors to promote at.
