Bayern Munich predicted lineup vs Barcelona - Champions League

Bayern Munich will look to land another knockout blow on Barcelona when the two sides meet in the Champions League on Tuesday.

The last time these sides met, Bayern ran out 8-2 winners, hammering the final nail in the coffin at Camp Nou and sending Barcelona into an uncontrollable spiral from which they are still yet to emerge. Another one of those would go down a treat for the Germans.

Here's how Julian Nagelsmann could set up.

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Manuel Neuer (GK) - Neuer has had Marc Andre ter Stegen's number on the international scene for a while now and will be keen to remind everyone why on Tuesday.

Benjamin Pavard (RB) - Having returned from an ankle injury last time out, Pavard looks ready to start this one again, but maybe don't expect him to finish the full 90.

Dayot Upamecano (CB) - Despite his young age, Upamecano comes with plenty of Champions League experience and has featured in every round apart from the final. Could he reach that this year?

Lucas Hernandez (CB) - Like Pavard, Lucas made his return from a lengthy injury lay-off against RB Leipzig, but he did remain on the pitch for the full game and could do the same here.

Alphonso Davies (LB) - One of the stars of the show in the mauling of Barcelona, Davies has been in excellent form in recent weeks and will have the Spanish side's defence scared.

2. Midfielders

Joshua Kimmich (DM) - Kimmich already has three assists for the season, proving his status as one of the best midfielders in the world.

Leon Goretzka (DM) - It's believed that Goretzka has agreed to a contract extension at Bayern, meaning he can now focus solely on his football.

Jamal Musiala (RM) - Serge Gnabry was taken off as a precaution against Leipzig after complaining of an injury, so Nagelsmann should let young Musiala build on his man-of-the-match showing last time out.

Thomas Muller (AM) - The image of Muller just roaring in celebration after scoring against Barcelona will still give the Blaugrana nightmares.

Leroy Sane (LM) - Sane has finally landed his long-awaited switch to the left wing, so it's up to him to prove he deserves to stay there. With Kingsley Coman battling a calf injury, he should get another go here.

3. Forward

Robert Lewandowski (ST) - Lewandowski has scored in his last 17 appearances for Bayern, racking up 27 goals during that run. He'll be licking his lips against a weakened Barcelona.
