Bayern Munich predicted lineup vs Borussia Dortmund - Bundesliga
- Changes expected from manager Thomas Tuchel after shock cup exit to Saarbrucken
- Harry Kane will lead the line with support from Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sane
- Matthijs de Ligt sidelined after picking up injury during midweek action
Bayern Munich's bid to revive a season in danger of unravelling continues on Saturday when they visit Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga's Der Klassiker.
While Thomas Tuchel's side helped themselves to eight goals in their blitzing of Darmstadt last time out in the league, hopes of domestic cup glory came to a shock end in midweek as Bayern were beaten 2-1 by third-tier Saarbrucken.
Things are going swimmingly in the Champions League with three wins from three games, but with Bayer Leverkusen currently leading the Bundesliga, anything less than victory for Bayern against their old rivals will provoke more fear and anxiety among the club's fanbase.
Here's the side Tuchel could opt for on Saturday.
Bayern Munich predicted lineup vs Borussia Dortmund (4-2-3-1)
GK: Manuel Neuer - The 37-year-old club captain has featured in Bayern's last two games after recovering from a broken leg. Has a Klassiker record of 24 wins, six draws and 11 defeats from 41 games.
RB: Noussair Mazraoui - Helped himself to two assists in the 8-0 Darmstadt thrashing. Beat Dortmund twice in the 2021/22 Champions League group stages while at Ajax.
CB: Dayot Upamecano - Matthijs de Ligt will be sidelined after getting injured at Saarbrucken but Bayern have strength in depth with France international Upamecano ready to step in.
CB: Kim Min-jae - Was guilty of a sloppy pass which led to Saarbrucken's winner in the DFB-Pokal but his otherwise positive form should be rewarded with another start.
LB: Alphonso Davies - How long the Canada star stays at Bayern remains to be seen, with Real Madrid lining Davies up as a solution to their problems at left-back.
CM: Konrad Laimer - With Joshua Kimmich suspended after his red card last weekend, there is added pressure on Laimer to ensure Bayern win the midfield battle.
CM: Leon Goretzka - Kimmich's replacement is expected to be Goretzka, who should be fit after recovering from a broken hand.
RW: Leroy Sane - Reportedly promised Bayern ultras a reaction in Der Klassiker after the Saarbrucken shock. Has been one their more consistent performers with eight goals and two assists in the Bundesliga this season.
AM: Jamal Musiala - Came off the bench for a 30-minute cameo in midweek but should start from the off and provide some of his much-needed flair.
LW: Kingsley Coman - Another of the troops sent on as Tuchel attempted to avoid a DFB-Pokal embarrassment but couldn't dig Bayern out of their hole.
ST: Harry Kane - Must have been left flabbergasted as another potential trophy went up in flames, having been involved in some pretty disastrous cup exits in his final years at Tottenham.
