Bayern Munich predicted lineup vs Hertha Berlin - Bundesliga
League-leading Bayern Munich travel to Germany's capital to face Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga on Sunday afternoon.
Julian Nagelsmann has led Bayern to the Bundesliga's summit with a record goal haul (a sickening 61 from 19 games) but also a few slip ups here and there. However, the 34-year-old wunderkind has had no errors against Hertha in his nascent managerial career, going 12 games unbeaten against the Berlin side.
Christoph Daum is the only manager in the Bundesliga's history to face one club more often without tasting defeat (20 against Bochum).
Here's the XI Nagelsmann may select to maintain his perfect record against the Old Lady.
Bayern Munich predicted lineup vs Hertha Berlin - Bundesliga
1. Goalkeeper & defenders
Manuel Neuer (GK) - Fittingly, for the player that was one of the modern game's first sweeper keepers, Neuer has completed more defensive actions outside his area than any other number one in Europe's top five leagues this season (per FBref).
Benjamin Pavard (RB) - Despite arriving at Bayern as a centre back, two and a half seasons shunted wider (for club and country) left Pavard looking uncomfortable when injuries forced him into the middle.
Dayot Upamecano (CB) - Just like the coach that followed him from RB Leipzig to Bayern, Upamecano has an unbeaten record against Hertha, the only club he has scored multiple goals against.
Niklas Sule (CB) - The towering German is the latest Bayern centre back to enter the final year of his contract with future wage demands a sticking point. However, Bayern don't bend to the will of players, as CEO Oliver Kahn said: "We have made it clear with David Alaba that we have certain limits."
Lucas Hernandez (LB) - Poised to make his first appearance of 2022, the World Cup winner at left back would provide some much-needed relief for the blatantly out of position Marcel Sabitzer.
2. Midfielders
Joshua Kimmich (CM) - Bayern's Rottweiler from Rottweil hasn't lost a Bundesliga match away from home since April.
Corentin Tolisso (CM) - While Leon Goretzka eases his way back from a knee injury, one of the six Frenchman littered throughout a particularly Gallic squad is set to ably fill in.
Thomas Muller (AM) - With an outrageous tally of 16 Bundesliga assists after just 19 weeks, Muller is on track to break his own record of 21 goals created by March.
3. Forwards
Serge Gnabry (RW) - One more league goal would take Gnabry into double figures for a sixth consecutive Bundesliga season, a feat only a certain Polish teammate of his can match in the same time frame.
Robert Lewandowski (ST) - The official Best Men's Player for 2021 saves his best for Hertha, an opponent that has conceded ten goals to Lewandowski alone in their past five games against Bayern.
Leroy Sane (LW) - Left on the bench for the reverse fixture in August after he was hooked at half-time in the previous match, Sane's rise up Bayern's pecking order, and a return to his best form, has been blistering.
